Church Angeloktisti Larnaca Is one of the most ancient landmarks of the Cyprus island. The name literally translates as “built by angels”. This building is represented by an unusual architectural solution. It combines three churches built at different times.

According to scientists, the first “branch” of such an ensemble was built at the beginning of the fifth century. At the same hour, a mosaic was laid out, which has been preserved and pleases those who came to the church. Angeloktisti.

Inside, the building was ennobled with ancient frescoes, which could not be preserved today. Only one image was restored – this is John the Baptist. He holds in his hand a scroll with special prayer words.

Church Angeloktisti keeps several old icons. Including images of the saints Christ, Paraskeva and John the Theologian. The history of these and many other surviving monuments can be learned on a guided tour that we recommend visiting in Cyprus.
